ESIP High-level conference on the digitalisation of social security

The European Social Insurance Platform (ESIP) is organising its annual high-level conference on 22 September 2022 in Brussels. This year we will focus on a very timely topic: digitalisation of social security.

The full-day public conference takes place under the auspices of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU. We will address the challenges and opportunities of developing digital social security systems. You will hear from the CEOs of ESIP Members - national statutory social security institutions - as well as from senior European Commission and Parliament representatives.

Digitalisation has been identified as one of the six political priorities of the Ursula von der Leyen's presidency. Under the header “A Europe fit for the digital age”, the European Commission has formulated a set of objectives for the Digital Decade and proposals for a new European governance framework for data. Statutory social security institutions play a crucial role in turning the digital transition into reality, when it comes to promoting accessibility of online public services within and across borders and co-designing the structure of European Data Spaces.

The programme of the event is available here. A snapchat of the discussions will be shared via our social media accounts using the hashtags #DigitalSocialSecurity #WeGoDigital (Twitter: @ESIP_EU - LinkedIn: European Social Insurance Platform - ESIP)

During the conference we will launch the ESIP Statement on the Digitalisation of Social SecurityIt gathers in one document the ESIP stances on the digital transformation of social securit. The discussion on the digitalisation of social security will continue during and after the conference.
