Join us for the fourth edition of the annual Pension Policy workshop of the European Social Insurance Platform (ESIP).This year's edition is co-organised with the Research Network on Old-Age Provision (FNA) of the German Federal Pension Insurance. The workshop titled “Pensions & Active Ageing in Europe” will take place in Berlin on 11 March 2026.
Rapid demographic change is driving reforms of pension systems, which are increasingly central to social protection and to ensuring the long-term sustainability of pensions - issues we have examined in previous ESIP pension workshops.
The fourth ESIP pension workshop will bring together leaders, policymakers and practitioners from social security institutions, EU institutions and the OECD. Participants will explore how Europe can support older people in remaining active up to and beyond the pensionable age, through adapted working conditions, flexible pension rules and targeted incentives within pension systems.
The workshop will take place on Wednesday 11 March 2026 (14:00-17:00 CET) at the premises of the German Federal Pension Insurance-DRV Bund (Heilbronner Strasse 26, Berlin). Registration will open at 13:30. The workshop will be followed by a networking reception starting at 17:00.
