ESIP CEOs meet to discuss fit-for-future social protection systems (Press Release)

15. Oct 2025

Europe’s social security leaders gather in Brussels to discuss responsible, innovative pathways for AI and the future of social protection.

Brussels, 15 October 2025 - Yesterday, the European Social Insurance Platform (ESIP) hosted its inaugural CEOs Roundtable, bringing together leaders from social security institutions across Europe to discuss how to build future-proof social security systems, particularly how artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping the governance and delivery of social protection.

Under the theme “The future of social protection, artificial intelligence & public administration: Leadership, governance & talent implications”, CEOs explored how AI can enhance the efficiency, accuracy and accessibility of social protection systems - while ensuring that the digital transformation remains ethical and that AI-driven tools support rather than replace human decision-making.

Leaders agreed that the responsible deployment of AI demands strong governance, transparency and continuous investment, while safeguarding public trust and the solidarity that underpins Europe’s social model.

As a result of this pioneering discussion, ESIP will establish a Task Force on AI. The Task Force will support ESIP members in exchanging best practices, identifying common challenges and developing responsible, effective approaches to AI deployment within public administrations.
